Fix Navigation Issues & RTK Errors – Mammotion Robot Mower
Poor GPS signal, RTK errors or inaccurate mapping? Find the most common causes and solutions here.
Valid for: LUBA 2 AWD, LUBA 3 AWD, LUBA mini AWD 1500, LUBA mini AWD 1500 LiDAR, LUBA mini 2 AWD 1000
Your Mammotion robot mower uses RTK-GNSS (Real-Time Kinematic) for precise positioning. The system accesses four global navigation satellite systems (GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo) and achieves an accuracy of approximately 5 cm. If navigation is not working correctly, it is usually due to one of the following reasons.
1. RTK Reference Station Shows Solid Red (Malfunction)
- Check that the power supply is correctly connected.
- Make sure the cable between the charging station and the RTK reference station is firmly plugged in.
- Restart the station: disconnect the power supply, wait 30 seconds, then reconnect.
- Check for a firmware update: Settings → Device Information → Robot Version.
2. Weak or Missing Satellite Signal
- Place the RTK reference station in an open area – free of overhanging roofs, trees or buildings nearby.
- Keep a distance of at least 3 m from walls, trees or other obstacles.
- Ensure the radio antenna is firmly attached.
- Do not move the RTK reference station after mapping. If you have moved it: Settings → Robot Settings → Delete Map.
3. RTK Reference Station Flashing Green (Initialising)
- Wait until the LED shows solid green or solid blue.
- Solid Green = "Antenna via Data Connection" mode active.
- Solid Blue = "Antenna via Internet" mode active.
- If initialisation is not complete after 10 minutes: check the Wi-Fi connection and the location of the station.
4. Robot Mows Inaccurately or Leaves the Mowing Area
- Check the positioning mode: Status Bar → Positioning Mode.
- "Antenna via Data Connection" (LoRa): best accuracy, lowest latency.
- "Antenna via Internet": for large or complex lawns.
- "iNavi NetRTK": RTK corrections via 4G from the cloud – no local RTK reference station required.
5. Mapping Fails or Is Inaccurate
- Start mapping only when the station is fully initialised (LED solid green or blue).
- Map during the day – between 18:00 and 08:00 the station is in standby (LED off).
- If problems persist: Settings → Robot Settings → Delete Map.
6. LUBA mini AWD 1500 LiDAR: Additional Positioning Support
- The LiDAR module supports RTK positioning when the satellite signal is weak.
- Clean the LiDAR module if necessary with a soft, dry cloth.
