LED indicators, sounds and status messages
Your iRobot robot communicates through LEDs, light rings and sounds. The meaning varies by model generation.
New generation (105, 205, Plus 405/505, Max 705)
Dock LEDs (AutoWash™ / AutoEmpty™):
- Solid white: dock is on, robot charging or emptying/washing/drying cycle running.
- Solid red (bag LED): bag full, missing or incorrectly inserted.
- Solid red (dirty water tank LED): tank full, missing or incorrectly inserted.
- Solid red (clean water tank LED): tank empty, missing or incorrectly inserted.
i series (i1, i3, i5, i6, i7) & j series
Clean Base™ LED: Red = bag full or missing.
s9 series
Similar to i series. Additionally: light ring shows battery level as a percentage.
900 series
600 series (WiFi) & e5/e6
600 series (no WiFi), 800 series, 680
CLEAN button with colour change: green = ready, yellow = charging, red = error.
Braava Jet 250 & Braava 300 series
- LED indicates cleaning mode and battery level.
- Sounds signal start, end and errors.
Sounds
- Start melody: Cleaning begins.
- Completion melody: Cleaning completed, robot docked.
- Error tone: Problem detected – check LEDs or app for details.
- Low battery: Robot cannot start, buttons flash red with warning tone.
