Packaging and Recycling – Dispose Sustainably

How to sustainably dispose of your iRobot device packaging.

Packaging and Recycling

The packaging of your iRobot device consists of various materials that you can separate and recycle. Here's how to do it properly.

Packaging Materials and Their Disposal

Cardboard / Corrugated Board

  • The outer packaging and inner boxes are made of corrugated board.
  • Disposal: Via your municipality's cardboard collection (typically every 2–4 weeks) or at the recycling centre.
  • Tip: Keep the original packaging – it's ideal if you need to ship the device for repair.

Polystyrene / EPS (Expanded Polystyrene)

  • Moulded parts for cushioning the device.
  • Disposal: At your local recycling centre. Polystyrene does not go in the cardboard collection.

Plastic Films and Bags

  • Protective covers around the robot, dock and accessories.
  • Disposal: Via plastic collection (e.g. collection bags at Migros, Coop) or at the recycling centre.

Paper Inserts (Manuals, Quick Start Guide)

  • Disposal: Via paper recycling collection.
  • Tip: Keep the quick start guide or download it digitally via the iRobot HOME App or our website.

Cable Ties and Adhesive Strips

  • Disposal: In the rubbish bag (household waste).
