Cleaning & replacing multi-surface brushes

The multi-surface brushes are key wear parts of your Roomba.

Applicable models

Roomba 600 series, 800 series, 900 series, e5, e6, i1, i3, i5, i6, i7, s9, j series, Combo i8, Roomba 105, 205, Plus 405, Plus 505, Max 705

Frequency

  • Clean once a week (twice with pets)
  • Replace every 6–12 months

How to

  1. Press the brush guard release button and lift it out.
  2. Remove the brushes from the robot.
  3. Remove the end caps from the brush ends.
  4. Remove all hair and debris under the caps and on the metal axles.
  5. Replace the end caps.
  6. Remove hair from the square and hexagonal pegs on the opposite ends.
  7. Reinstall brushes and guard, matching peg shapes to symbols.

Important

Check the brush guard every 6 months and replace if worn or damaged.
