The main components of your Roomba
Your Roomba has various buttons, sensors, and indicators that vary by model. Here's an overview.
Buttons & controls
- CLEAN button: Starts/stops cleaning (on all models)
- SPOT button: Starts spot cleaning (concentrated cleaning in one area)
- DOCK button: Sends Roomba back to charging station
- HOME button: Alternative name for DOCK (depending on model)
Indicators & LEDs
- Light ring / LED indicator: Shows status (charging, cleaning, error)
- Battery indicator: Shows charge level (on older models)
- Wi-Fi indicator: Shows Wi-Fi connection (on Wi-Fi models)
Sensors
- Cliff sensors: Prevent falling down stairs
- Bumper sensors: Detect obstacles
- Dirt Detect™ sensors: Detect particularly dirty areas (on selected models)
- Camera: For navigation and mapping (on 900, i-, j-, s-series)
Brushes & cleaning system
- Side brush: Cleans corners and edges
